Ahobilam is located in the Nallamalla forest range of Andhra Pradesh. Here are the best ways to reach:
✈️ By Air
- Nearest Airport: Rajahmundry (160 km) or Tirupati (280 km).
- Major Hubs: Hyderabad (280 km) and Chennai (450 km) have the best flight connectivity. From there, you can hire a cab or take a bus.
🚆 By Train
- Nearest Railway Station: Dhone Junction (45 km). It is well-connected to Chennai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad.
- Alternative: Nandyal (60 km) is another major railway station with good connectivity.
🚌 By Road
- From Hyderabad: ~280 km via Kurnool (5-6 hours drive).
- From Chennai: ~450 km via Tirupati and Kadapa (8-9 hours drive).
- From Bangalore: ~380 km via Anantapur and Nandyal (7-8 hours drive).

🍂 Winter (October to February)
Highly Recommended. The weather is pleasant and cool, making the trek to Upper Ahobilam very comfortable. This is the peak pilgrimage season.
🌸 Spring (March to May)
Summers can get quite hot (up to 40°C). If visiting during this time, early morning darshan is highly advised. The Narasimha Jayanti festival usually falls in April/May and is a spectacular time to visit.
🌧️ Monsoon (June to September)
The Nallamalla forest becomes lush and green, and waterfalls are active. However, the trekking paths to Upper Ahobilam can become slippery, so extra caution and trekking shoes are required.
💡 Pro Tip: Narasimha Jayanti is the most auspicious day. Book your travel and accommodation at least 2-3 months in advance for this period.

- Morning: 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Evening: 4:00 PM – 7:30 PM
- Contains the remaining 4 temples. Requires a 3-4 km trek from the base. Trekking Jeeps are available from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
